God With Us in Truth, Word, and Sacrament
The mission of Emmanuel Lutheran Church is to faithfully administer the Sacraments, proclaim Christ crucified, and gather around sound biblical teaching—receiving the gift of Emmanuel: God with us—so that His presence transforms how we live, love, and serve in Perth.
Sacraments
God Present in Grace
At Emmanuel Lutheran Church Perth, we believe God does not remain far off. Through the Sacraments of Holy Baptism and Holy Communion, Christ Himself draws near to deliver His grace directly to us. In these sacred means of grace, we receive the real gifts of Christ: the forgiveness of sins, life, and salvation.
We faithfully administer these Sacraments as He commanded, trusting His promise that He is truly present with us. Strengthening our faith, comforting us in trial, and uniting us as one body.

Gospel
God With Us in Salvation
The heart of our mission is to boldly proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ. This promise is that God came to be with us in human flesh. He lived a perfect life, died on the cross for our sins, and rose bodily for our justification and salvation to eternal life with Him, even while we were still sinners.
We preach Christ crucified, trusting that where His Word is proclaimed, God is actively at work to bring forgiveness and eternal hope to all who hear.
"I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." Galatians 2:20 ESV
Community
God With Us in Fellowship
Because God is with us, we are brought together as a true family of faith. In a world marked by isolation and uncertainty, Emmanuel is a sanctuary of genuine fellowship bound by a shared confession of Christ.
Whether in times of joy, pastoral transition, or personal hardship, we rest in the assurance that Christ is in our midst. We bear one another’s burdens, encourage each other in sound doctrine, and reflect His love to our neighbors across Western Australia.

Where We Stand
Christ Present in All of Life
Our name, Emmanuel, shapes how we view human life, our identity, and our relationships. Because God came to be with us in human flesh, we confess that Jesus Christ is Lord over every season of human existence. His real presence doesn't just comfort us on Sundays. It anchors our dignity as human beings, gives lasting purpose to our daily work, and grounds our relationships in His selfless, sacrificial love.
How we view others naturally shapes how we act toward them. Scripture provides a beautiful, God-given framework that reveals the inherent value of every person and calls us to love our neighbour as Christ has loved us. Our ultimate goal is not self-reliance, but to reflect and imitate Christ. In this, we fulfil our true purpose by walking in a living, restored relationship with Him and bringing His grace, truth, and mercy into the lives of those around us.
Life For Christ
God With Us from Beginning to End
We believe all human life is a sacred gift from God, our Creator. Our lives are not our own. We have been redeemed and brought into fellowship with God through the precious blood of Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 6:19–20).
Because God became man in Jesus Christ and took on human flesh, every human person possesses inherent dignity, purpose, and value from conception until natural death. We stand to defend, cherish, and care for human life at every stage, reflecting God’s steadfast love for His creation (Psalm 139:13–14).
Purpose in Christ
Anchored in His Presence
Our true worth, purpose, and identity are not found in our achievements or worldly security, but in Christ. The One who was, who is, and who is to come. When other foundations shake or crumble, the promise that God is with us remains unshakable.
Through Christ, we are forgiven, renewed, and given meaningful work to do in our daily callings, as parents, workers, neighbours, and citizens (Ephesians 2:10). Called out of darkness into His marvellous light, we live to proclaim His goodness to the world around us (1 Peter 2:9).
Love Through Christ
Reflecting God’s Selfless Love
The Triune God is the origin and definition of love. In His divine wisdom, He created humanity male and female, making us for holy, life-giving relationship. This love was most clearly demonstrated on the cross, where Christ laid down His life for us (John 15:13).
God designed marriage as a lifelong, faithful union between one man and one woman to be a visible icon of Christ’s sacrificial love for His Church. In this sacred calling, husbands and wives are called to embody His self-giving grace, creating a foundation for family life and blessing the wider community.
